An Evening with Laura Barnett and Kathryn Williams at Waterstones Manchester, Deansgate – Wednesday 5 July, 7pm

The Greatest Hits tour will stop off in York on Tuesday 4 July for an evening at Waterstones. Kathryn and I will be talking about our collaboration on her album to accompany my second novel, Greatest Hits. Tickets are £5 and available here.
Kathryn and I will be in the Oak Room at the very swanky Hospital Club in Covent Garden, London, on Wednesday 28 June talking about our collaboration on Greatest Hits. Kathryn will then take to the stage to perform songs from her soundtrack album to the novel, along with some of her other amazing songs. Tickets […]
Greatest Hits: Laura Barnett and Kathryn Williams at Canada Water Library, London – Monday 26 June, 7pm
Kathryn and I will be hotstepping over to south-east London (not so far from my own ‘hood, as it happens, though a little further from hers) on Monday 26 June to talk Greatest Hits, music, fiction, and the interesting spaces in between. Tickets are free, so you have no excuse at all for not being there. […]
Come along to the beautiful Oxford Waterstones to hear my girl Kathryn and I discussing our collaboration – which we believe to be the first of its kind – on a soundtrack album to my new novel, Greatest Hits. I’ll read, she’ll sing (or perhaps we’ll swap roles for a change), and there will almost certainly […]
Kathryn Williams and I will be talking about our collaboration on Greatest Hits, my novel and her soundtrack album, at Woodbridge Library. She’ll play some songs, too, and I might even attempt a few harmonies. We’ll see. Tickets are available from Woodbridge Library and Browsers Bookshop, and there’s more information about the event here.
I love the Green Note – it’s a tiny little live music venue in Camden, north London, with exposed brick walls and good wine and wooden tables, and it feels just like one of those proper folky cafes from the 1960s. So I’m very happy to be doing an event there on 13 June with […]
Kathryn Williams and I will be taking to the stage to talk about our collaboration on my novel Greatest Hits, and Kath’s accompanying album, at the Balham Literary Festival on Friday 9 June. I’m particularly excited about this as I’m a born-and-bred South Londoner – I grew up just down the road from Balham, in Clapham, […]
April 2017 I’m beyond excited that the first song from Songs from the Novel Greatest Hits – the album Kathryn Williams and I have collaborated on, inspired by my second novel – has had its premiere on Folk Radio UK. The song is called Common Ground; in the novel, it’s inspired by my character, Cass Williams’s, memories […]
Kath and I will be doing a number of events around the country (nay – maybe even the world!) during 2017, and this appearance at the Bath Festival is one of the ones I’m most excited about. We’ll be on stage together talking about the genesis of our collaboration on Greatest Hits, my second novel, about a […]
In 2016, I took part in the Pool Party – an evening showcasing contemporary women’s writing, supported by the brilliant online magazine The Pool – and great fun it was too. This year, I’m back with my comrade-in-arms and number one creative wife, musician Kathryn Williams, to talk about my new novel Greatest Hits, and her accompanying […]
Event with ELLE magazine: There’s a Book In You… Here’s How to Write It, Monday 6 March, 6.30pm, London
I’ll be joining those stylish folks at ELLE magazine for a panel discussion about how to write that novel you’re yearning to get on the page, and then – the all-important question – how to get it published. Details of the rest of the panel are below. Should be great fun, and hopefully informative, too… […]
February 2017 According to The Bookseller, The Versions of Us was the number-one bestselling debut novel in the UK in 2016. This is absolutely astonishing news for me, not least because it means that – surely for the one and only time in my life – I get to share a number-one spot with Bruce Springsteen. […]
I am – excitingly, and terrifyingly – giving a TedX talk at Cambridge University, my old alma mater, on Saturday 11 February 2017. I’m one of a number of speakers – including Andrew Marr, and the physicist and former opera singer (I’m already intrigued!) Carl Gombrich – discussing the subject of originality and innovation; whether […]
